SUMMARY:Stone Arch Sessions: The Violet Palms
DESCRIPTION:Emerging from late night songwriting sessions at a dimly lit kitchen table\, Marcus Truschinski (vocals) and Ben Feiner (guitar/vocals) laid the groundwork for what would become Violet Palms’ signature blend of early2000s nostalgia\, modern rock heft\, and irrepressible funk. They were soon joined by veteran local engineer turned drummer Michael Mertens\, funk fiend bassist and actor/advocate Tim Gittings\, and Craig Benzine\, YouTube icon and frontman of Driftless Pony Club\, whose synchronized guitar interplay with Ben gives the band its dual attack punch. \nViolet Palms made their live debut in early 2022 at a beloved Spring Green venue\, selling out the room and earning more tip money than they ever imagined\, proof that their tight riffs and playful spirit had struck a chord. Encouraged by that rush\, they entered Madison’s Blast House Studios with engineer Dustin Sisson to record their 2023 debut\, Compassion Fatigue\, living by the motto “don’t think about it too much.” The resulting record invited listeners to settle into its grooves like an old armchair; honest\, occasionally goofy\, and undeniably catchy. \nOn By Design And Accidental\, however\, the band tempered spontaneity with deliberate craft\, adopting a new mantra: “maybe think about it a little.” Over the course of fifteen tracks\, Violet Palms balances their trademark immediacy with finely honed arrangements. Basic tracks were laid down in a single whirlwind weekend at Blast House (mixed and mastered by head engineer Landon Arkens)\, while vocals and overdubs were completed at Ben’s own Black and White Petsstudio.

Modeled after the eclectic style of Django’s Parisian hot club jazz\, they bridge the gap between the golden age and the modern era. Expect to hear jazz standards from the 1930s and 40s alongside contemporary hits and original compositions that stay true to that authentic “Hot Club” sound. \nAbout Hot Club of Winnebago Hailing from Northeastern Wisconsin\, Hot Club of Winnebago puts a distinct spin on the acoustic Gypsy jazz band. Guitarists Tyler Furrer and Alec Riegsecker are joined by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Christian “Papa Nubs” Dyble to create a sound that ties the European tradition back to the American jazz and blues roots of the early 1900s. DESCRIPTION:ts a Stone Arch Sessions debut! Copper Box is a quartet based in Oshkosh\, WI and was started in 2002 with co-founders\, Danny Jerabek & Michelle LL (Jerabek). Danny grew up performing in his dad’s band at the early age of 9 and was self-taught on button accordion (currently endorsed by Hohner Accordions)\, drums\, trumpet\, sax\, etc. He married Michelle L Thull\, who also performed in her dad’s family band and together they started Copper Box. The name implies\, “the squeeze box being a great conductor of energy!” With the help of some incredible talented musicians\, Copper Box continues to deliver a punch in entertainment and musicality\, playing familiar songs with a twist in a multi-genre accord (polka-rock-blues)\, as well as their own originals for concerts and events.
